Meditation to calm your mind, create a state of mental calmness, and focus is truly powerful.
The Mind Body Connection is powerful “the power of meditation to quiet the mind and achieve serenity and happiness.”
In Robin Sharma’s book, “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari“, and then the follow up book “Secret Letters from the Monk Who Sold his Ferrari [link]” ( a much better read than the first btw ), the author talks about the power of meditation to quiet the mind and achieve serenity and happiness. Meditation is very similar to self hypnosis – or auto hypnosis, in the sense that it is based on the process of reprogramming the mind to have more discipline and focus, It has been used for thousands of years by Tibetan Monks and the Yogis of both modern and ancient India. But it is important to realize that meditation need not have anything to do with religion, rather it is the internal analysis of one’s own place in the world and the relationship between a person’s mind and their external actions.
Meditation to calm your mind, develop positivity, and experience the of joy your mind body connection.
Meditation can be one of the most gratifying things a person can do – and have dramatic influence on how calm and relaxed you are in a day. By starting your day with 15 minutes of personal introspection, you can take the time to set the tone for the entire day ahead. This doesn’t mean you have to don the flowing robes and sit cross legged in a trance like you see in the movies. You simply need to be able to be in a quiet spot where you can learn to quiet your mind so that you can achieve the personal change and improvement you want out of life.
How to slow your thoughts? Some worry that even meditation wont help them focus and create a true mind body connection.
Many people when first attempt with, meditation to calm your mind, find it very difficult to focus their mind long enough to stop the frantic pace of thoughts that we can experience at any waking moment. It is only when you attempt to step back and listen to your own thoughts that you realize how fast they are moving through your brain and how amazing it is that you can remember to even go to the bathroom with so much happening between your ears. This has been a problem for humans for thousands of years – and is at an all time high with the amount of distraction and possession available in our world. But to generate real change in our lives – whether that be through hypnotherapy or meditation – or ideally a combination of both – we need to regain control of our minds which is no easy task. When you first attempt to listen to a self hypnosis program or try to meditate, you may find it nearly impossible to relax and calm your mind. It is not uncommon to suddenly find yourself falling asleep while trying to meditate – and for good reason as many of us have completely lost touch with our ability to live in a calm mental state and the moment we are able to slow our minds down – the result is we fall asleep from mental exhaustion.
How to get back to what we once “understood”, kids can teach you about meditation to calm your mind.
Yet when we were children we spent the vast majority of time in this state of mental calmness. Our brains were alive with curiosity and adventure and just as importantly imagination. By the time we hit puberty that imagination and playfulness was replaced with our first and foremost primary distraction – the opposite sex. From there we add the importance of performing in school, social pressures, or first jobs, wanting our first cars and the vicious cycle of life takes hold of yet another victim.
With meditation we can calm our minds and teach ourselves to focus on the important tasks at hand. Our thoughts are directed and focused on achieving results that matter to us – rather than the wasted process of running the same thoughts and worries through our head repeatedly with no results.
There are numerous wonderful sites on the internet that can teach you more about meditation such as tm.org or zenhabits.net. We also have a terrific series of guided meditation audio programs – here.
