When hypnotherapy is used for changing habits such as smoking or overeating – it is incorrect to see it as an instant solution where suddenly you are going to stop a habit that you may have had for decades. Instead, hypnotherapy works at reprogramming your subconscious mind to give you that added determination to succeed at changing the habit. Hypnotherapy can be particularly effective in helping people who are suffering from depression or a sense of unhappiness, as the auto-suggestive programming of the therapy can change the fundamental thinking patterns of the individual.
